A Better Way to Weed
No more spraying chemicals, struggling with landscaping fabric, or spending hours on your hands and knees weeding. Tertill offers a better way to weed - just press the button and let the robot take care of the rest.
Created by the inventor of Roomba, Tertill lives in your garden, runs on sunshine, and weeds every day.
Ross Trethewey, This Old House
“This weeding robot will save you time and energy removing weeds automatically."
Proven as Effective as Hand Weeding
Tertill doesn't just kill weeds in your garden, it actually prevents them from growing. Tertill prevents weeds by churning up the surface of the soil with its specially designed wheels. Weeds that do manage to grow get chopped down with Tertill's string trimmer until they run out of energy and die.
Cornell School of Agriculture found Tertill's method of weeding as effective as hand weeding.
How Does Tertill Tell a Weed from a Plant?
Tertill has a simple way of telling weeds from plants: weeds are short, plants are tall. A plant tall enough to touch the front of Tertill’s shell makes the robot turn away. A plant short enough to pass under Tertill’s shell activates the whacker string. Tertill comes with metal plant guards that can be placed around small plants or seeds until they get tall enough for the robot to sense them.
For best results, Tertill should be placed in a garden with weeds shorter than 1 inch. We recommend putting Tertill in your garden at the beginning of the season, before weeds have started to sprout, or right after a weeding.
